Visitor Attractions
There is something within the 75 square miles of Tamar Valley to fill every single day of the year come rain or shine!
The Tamar Valley is a fascinating place to explore if you enjoy visiting historic houses, buildings and gardens, with so many well-preserved and unique houses and estates not far apart, offering a rich experience of Old Devon and Cornwall right back to Tudor times.
Our temperate climate and vast outside space has created the perfect environment for some of the most spectacular gardens to flourish in. Explore traditional English country gardens, getting lost amidst the native flora and fauna or uncover something entirely more tropical with unique species to wander through.
For a taste of the past, spend a day soaking up the atmosphere at Morwellham Quay’s historic port and mining village or try some of the traditional crafts on offer and expand your knowledge. Why not follow in the footsteps of Sir Francis Drake and learn a little about Plymouth’s key role in our fascinating maritime history.
Kids big and small will love the many family attractions on offer across the valley too. Get a taste of Nostalgia at Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre at Lifton or get up close and personal with the incredibly friendly donkeys at the Tamar Valley Donkey Park and Sanctuary.
